About Elena Mundey, (MSW, LGSW)

​

Hi, I'm Elena Mundey. I reside in the District of Columbia with my husband and daughter.  I graduated from the City University of New York at Hunter College in June 1999, with a Master’s Degree in Social Work.  I'm a Licensed Graduate Social Worker in the District of Columbia with over 25 years of experience working with children, families, and individuals as an agent of support and guidance.  I am committed to serving the needs of individuals, children, and families as a Mental Health Therapist.

Who Am I

​I have studied many therapeutic modalities (e.g. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Secondary Trauma, Harm Reduction, Black Fatigue, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, etc.) to bring healing to those in need and improve their social functioning.

​I'm a lifelong learner, inspired by the abundance of opportunities available to broaden and enrich the lives of others.  I have additional expertise in areas of Loss and Trauma, Social Emotional Learning Initiatives, Family Systems, Positive Parenting, Crisis Intervention, Mindfulness, Restorative Justice, ADHD, Domestic Violence, Youth Offenders, Returning Citizens, Dual Diagnosis, Elderly, and the LGBTQ community.

My Purpose

I am eager to help and connect with you. The journey of 1000 miles starts with one step. In this process, I will walk with you step by step until you reach your goals.
